Updates! (no, not for your current fave-game!)

*looks at date of last journal entry*
Oo Woah...ooold...

Time for updates!
So let's get this started!
What happened in the meantime?
I've been playing lotsa pen & paper, to be precise at least once every
two weeks. I managed to make my character, a cleric of Heironeous die
twice within just 8 days.
I guess I musn't tell anyone familiar with D & D that I lost two levels thanks to
those...incidents.
On the other hand I'm still trying to get myself some kind of job, I need money and
being at home all day sucks like hell. Nothing's sepcial anymore when you have so much time you
can basicly do anything at any time. So a work schedule wouldn't only just raise
money for necessary investions, but also make the sparetime you have off work
much more prescious and enjoyable.
But don't fear!
I know I'm slow in creating new art, but that has two reasons:
#1 it's only just a hobby of mine really, which means I mostly get to work on something
new when games won't entertain me enough anymore or I'm really bored.
Don't misunderstand me here tho! I like creating new art, not only for the really satisfying
feeling you get when you've something created and look at it once it's finished, I also like
drawing because you create something wonderful in a way. And this hobby means a lot to me, so I guess
I'll never stop doing it.
#2 Whenever I get to draw something I take my time doing it. I put much effort into the creation of the first
sketch as do I do working on single parts to make them look right - perspectively and anatomicly.
I'm not saying I succeed with that every time, but I hope you can see it.
Plus whenever I just wanna do simple colors with outlines, somehow I get drawn over to do a full colorjob
which means there are no outlines and as you can guess that means quite some work more.
All at all you can see I put a big portion of love into my stuff from ground on.
Love for details, love for smooth lines, love for perfection. I really hope the work and effort pays off and
you can actually see the little details and the small part of my soul I put into each piece.
After all I spend hours and days on a single drawing, but I'm only working on it when I feel like doing it, that
way I make sure nothing gets rushed and looks as good as I can manage to make it look.

It may sound cheesy, but that's really how I feel about what I like to call my hobby.
My dearest I might add.
So now you know the reasons why there's not so many "new stuff" like others use to post almost daily you might as well
understand that I prefer quality over quantity.

Also, I know I was talking about finishing those colors on that more than belated pic, but after weeks I spend working on
it I got tired. Working on the same piece for that long doesn't raise your spirits for drawing in general.
So I decided to move on, lay it on ice maybe temporarily, maybe for always.
Sometimes you just gotta do that, but as long as the file's still on my harddisc changes are good it will get finished
in the rush of a happy state.

So much for now. I hope I could answer some untold questions or, at least, give an insight on how I work.
Now I gotta prove I didn't just spend my freetime lazily sitting on a chair and upload that drawing...

Take care everyone!

-Daniel
